Live-edge lumber seems to be all the rage these days. I put together this live-edge wall shelf from some locally resourced cherry. The grain is gnarly and variegated. However, the lines are flowing and easy on the eye and hand. Many times makers don’t put enough of themselves into live-edged work. They slap a piece of wood on some cinder blocks and call it fine woodworking. I’ll be teaching how to make this handsome little shelf at the Northwest Woodworking Studio in April. Check out my calendar for dates and times.
